Michael Jackson’s iconic Neverland Ranch is back on the market. The ranch is being listed for $31 million, a marked drop from its original asking price of $100 million. This is a reasonable price for the ranch, which means that it will soon have a new owner. Neverland is one of the most important places for Michael Jackson’s fans. It’s one of the few reminders that we have of Michael and it is the last chance for us fans to save Neverland before its gates close on us forever. Our goal is to mobilize each and every fan and supporter in order to collect the asking price of the ranch through crowdfunding.
Michael Jackson’s famous home called Neverland Valley Ranch is just as important in his life’s work as the Thriller album or the Moonwalker movie. Michael Jackson himself said: “Neverland is me, it represents the totality of who I am”. The land he bought in 1988 was then called Sycamore Valley Ranch. He owned this property for 20 years, and also lived there for 15 years. During this time, he built a railroad around the ranch with a Disneyland-style railway station, a private amusement park, a zoo full of exotic animals, and a movie theatre. He filled the formerly dull buildings with life. It was Michael Jackson who made Neverland what it was. Sadly, the place that Michael Jackson created from this land has been partly lost. As is well-known, Jackson’s personal belongings are currently awaiting their fate piled up in warehouses in Los Angeles, while the ranch goes on and off sale time after time on the real estate market. The property was originally listed at $100 million in 2015. After a change in listing agents in 2017, the price dropped to $67 million as the initial asking price was too high. And now Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is back on the market for $31 million. This is a reasonable price for the ranch, which means that it will soon have a new owner.
